COMMUNITY SERVICE:
PCSD has seen a report and investigation of 180 Civil Rights violations. Our children have been harassed and discriminated repeatedly with little consistent response from District leadership until required by the Department of Education. Our community needs to rally around the schools and rebuild the trust that has been lost and focus on what matters: teaching our children well.
Soil mitigation issues that the District was not aware of during recent construction that cost $3 million dollars to correct is an example of financial issues we are facing. Building a teen center without clear objectives and under pressure to utilize grants so as not to lose dollars is also problematic. Having a top heavy administration
Soil mitigation issues that the District was not aware of during recent construction that cost $3 million dollars to correct is an example of financial issues we are facing. Building a teen center without clear objectives and under pressure to utilize grants so as not to lose dollars is also problematic. Having a top heavy administration diverts funds and resources away from students, where they most matter.
Transparency in communication is critical. Consistent, clear, and accurate information must be presented to the community. Parents have reported an unwillingness in District communication on key issues that our children face, as well as policies that have wide ranging impacts.
Please reach out to me if you have questions.
The primary reason that I am running for the Board position is the fact that I have 3 grandchildren in the district - Ecker, McPolin and Park City High School and I want their education to be the best it can be. I want all of our children to be in an environment where they can learn and be safe.
I have the experience, the knowledge, and the skills to bring about organizational change. I have done this work for many years in organizations much bigger than PCSD. I intend to foster positive relationships with all members of the school community. I will listen and work collaboratively with all interested parties. I will partner with the other board members to craft a strategic vision for our District and restore it to excellence.
